Back To NewsPMA CAVALIER CYBER PRAYER WARRIORS DONATE MEDICAL SUPPLIES TO PHIL. MARINESBy: Col. Butch MoretoIn an official Turn-over ceremony last August 26, 2011 at the Phil Marine Corps headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, the PMA Cavalier Cyber Prayer Warriors group of Col. Butch Moreto turned over to the Marine Commandant, Major General Rusty Guerrero, PMA `81, their prayer warriors` donation of three (3) truckloads of 20 balikbayan boxes full of medical supplies for Marines deployed in various areas in the South, fighting for peace.
Col. Moreto was assigned to the combat zone in Jolo in his younger days as a young Lieutenant, fresh from the military academy, hence, the personal kinship with the Marines deployed in that troubled area. It took a month for the Phil Navy ship BRP Gregorio del Pilar recently acquired from the US government and loaded with the medical supplies, to cross the Pacific Ocean from the US to the Philippines.
The shipment and turn over of medical supplies were facilitated by Navy Captain Abet Cruz, PMA `88, ship captain of the BRP Gregorio del Pilar that brought the medical supplies from the US to PH, former Marine Capt Mon Mitra, PMA `88 who coordinated the arrival of the shipment, Col Butch Moreto PMA`54 and Major General Rusty Guerrero, PMA `81 Commandant, Phil Marine Corps, and of course the many Cavalier prayer warriors and other volunteers who donated and packed the items in California.
